ICAAS has held a series of international workshops with experts from various research fields from the academic, industrial and government sectors to discuss adequate intakes of amino acids and their safety evaluation methodologies. It has provided funds to selected research studies to accelerate data-based discussions. A new research funding program, ICAAS Research Funding (IRF), was launched in 2009.
ICAAS also held lecture sessions and seminars on amino acid science for Japanese audience. These activities were taken over by its regional chapter, ICAAS Japan.
All these ICAAS activities have been organized in consultation with our international scientific advisory board. The outcomes of many of our activities are available through scientific publications.
